Physiotherapy The Treatment Of Physical Dysfunction

Physiotherapy involves the assessment and treatment of physical dysfunction of the nerves, muscles, joints, bones and soft tissues of the human body. We are specialists in treating pain caused by mechanical/physical problems of these tissues.

Our methods are varied but generally involve exercise rehabilitation and manual therapy/manipulation (hands on treatment) to strengthen, loosen or correct the affected area. We sometimes use electrotherapy and acupuncture to help with pain and healing, and ALWAYS teach you self help strategies to overcome your problem.

EXPERT REFERRALS

From day to day to day aches and strains to severe traumatic injury our Chartered Physiotherapists will be able to help, and if we can't we will know who to send you to. Whether it be an Orthopaedic or Vascular Surgeon, a Rheumatologist or a Neurologist, Physio-Health has strong links with many London based specialists/consultants who will be often be able to see you within a few days. We also know where to get the cheapest MRI scans!

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A TREATMENT?

A detailed assessment of the physical problem will be undertaken at the first appointment. This will include some history taking to establish the cause and nature of the problem. This allows us to complete a full physical examination of the muscles, ligaments, joints and nerves. We also look at posture and movement as many physical problems are caused by subtle imbalances of the human body.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

We have set rates of £40 for the initial consultation and each subsequent treatment session (if needed). All sessions last 30 minutes. If you have BUPA or AXA cover physiotherapy is often included. Please check though before attending. If you are claiming for an accident through another insurance company a certain amount of physiotherapy can often be claimed. Please contact your insurance company to confirm this.
